PRE-SCHOOL PROGRAMMES 

PLAYGYM/KINDYGYM. - These sessions run together as the coaches will extend the children as and when they are ready and divide the groups accordingly between our qualified coaches.

This fun class is parented for toddlers & preschool children from as soon as they can walk - 6 years.
Playgym is designed to encourage pre schoolers to move and learn about themselves in a physical environment developing vision, balance, springing and landing safely, aerial awareness and manipulative skills all while having a fun time with parents and caregivers. Coaches will develop the children as they improve as this is not always age dependent 

ADVANCED PRE-SCHOOL (by invitation)

Advanced Pre-school Gymnastics is designed for those young gymnasts who are ready to move to the next level of gymnastics and therefore can be extended within a group of their peers. This class is working on developing skills that will prepare them for a wide variety of gymnastic programmes in the future.

RECREATIONAL PROGAMMES 

NEW ENTRANTS

This class is a step forward from Kindygym where the gymnasts start to develop more gymnastic-based skills using the tools they have acquired from Kindygym and continue to develop basic co-ordination and fundamental movement patterns.  Manipulative skills are developed through the use of balls, ribbons, hoops and feathers. This class is 45 minutes long for those children just starting school.

GYM FUN 6-8yrs

Gym-Fun classes are recreationally-based sessions that concentrate on developing the fundamental movement patterns and shapes to progress through gymnastics and other sports.  These classes also work on strength, flexibility and gymnasts get an opportunity to try all the gym sports activities like rhythmic, tumbling, team gym, aerobics and sports acro.

FANTASTIC FIT

Come along and join our gymnasts to get fit for your sport.  We will be developing strength, power, agility, endurance and general fitness.

This class is an add on option to our classes to help gymnast athletes from other sports to develop their strength and flexibility for all sports. Ideal for dryland training for swimmers, off sesaon fitness for winter sports and general fitness for all.

TUMBLING -  also known as power tumbling, is an acrobatic sporting discipline which combines the skills of artistic gymnasts with those of trampolining.

TUMBLE BUGS Age 5-8 years 

Tumble Bugs is an introduction to tumbling.  Tumbling is a competitive sport where gymnasts travel along a bouncy floor linking skills in quick succession.  Tumble bugs are developing bending skills and working towards round offs, handspring and front somersaults off the mini trampolines.  Gymnasts be able to a forward roll, a bridge and pattern a cartwheel and a handstand.  We recommend gymnasts complete a term of gym fun prior to entering this class.  Alternatively if you would like to enquire about this class please do not hesitate to contact Hannah on 0276659174

TUMBLE & BOUNCE Age 8-16 years

Tumble & Bounce is a class where gymnasts learn to add skills together along the 12m air track and develop acrobatic skills like round-offs and flics. Gymnasts also use the mini-tramps to learn rotations and somersaults. Gymnasts must be able to do a good cartwheel and handstand to attend this class. Gymnasts have an opportunity to compete at tumbling in this class should they wish too. Tumble and Bounce is also a great class for those interested in or already doing TeamGym. For those wishing to work on harder skills and develop more quickly they can do the 2 hour session of this class

TUMBLE & BOUNCE 2 (TB2)

TB2 is a 2 hour session of Tumble and Bounce where those who wish to learn more advanced skills.

TEAM GYM - 8-18 years

Team Gym is new to NZ although it has been in Europe for many years. This discipline includes stream tumbling, vault/mini tramp work and a floor routine. TeamGym is open for all abilities, however, gymnasts must be committed to attend classes every week and be part of a team.  The floor routine part of Team Gym is a compulsory section as in competition all gymnasts (6-12 per team) have to do the floor, but only 6 members have to do vault and tumbling.  All discplines of TeamGym are performed to music, and gymnasts in this class are encouraged to be involved in competitions as they are available (currently 2 per year one at our Parua Bay Community Centre and one away). For addititional tumbling and minitramp/vault work members are encouraged to do the Tumble and Bounce classes on Thursdays.

TeamGym Junior 

This class is for those new to TeamGym who are keen to work as a team and have a love of music and dance.  Gymnasts will learn a display routine and develop their tumbling and mini tramp and vault skills during this session.  Competition are encouraged but not compulsory.

TeamGym Senior 
This is a competitive group who will be competing both in our club and at away competitions. Gymnasts in this session should have a reasonable skill base and all gymnasts must be committed to this class as it is reliant on the whole team. The senior TeamGym class compete in the Intermediate category. The senior TeamGym class compete in the Intermediate category.

SQUAD - Artistic Voluntary

This class is for those gymnasts who love gymnastics and want to develop their skills further on all appartus (vault/bars/beam/floor) but do not want to follow the National/Olympic pathway at this point.  They may be involved in other sports so are unable to commit to the hours in the STEP programme or just want to have a bit of fun learning some harder skills than in our GymFun Recreational programmes. There are levels to work towards and goals to achieve and for those who are really keen routines are developed to be able to compete around Northland and Auckland. Classes vary in time according to age and level.  

COMPETITIVE PROGRAMMES 

TUMBLING 

NATIONAL LEVELS TUMBLING 

Gymnasts in this session are competing in the National levels tumbling programme level 4 and up and working towards being able to compete in the National Age Groups Tumbling. Gymnasts must be able to do a minimum of round off flic and round off back tuck.

COMPETITIVE AGE GROUP TUMBLING

Competitive Age Group tumbling gymnasts are continuing to develop their tumbling skills to compete in National Levels, Age Group, Short Track and International level. Gymnasts must be able to round off, flic, back somersault to be able to join these sessions. Gymnasts in this session will need to be committed to travelling around NZ for competitions, camps and clinics. These competition classes are by selection only.  If you are interested in becoming a member of our (WAG) competition squad please give us a call or drop in to see Hannah.               

PRE - COMP (not available term 2)

First steps in development towards all our competitive programmes - WAG, Tumbling and Team Gym.

Gymnasts work on increasing strength and flexibility, spacial awareness and perfecting basic skills.

STEP 1 

This is the first level of National level competitive gymnastics for girls. Gymnasts must be selected to be able to attend this squad. Gymnasts compete on Vault, Bars, Beam and Floor. Families must be committed to their gymnasts training 5 hours per week during the terms. Holiday training is optional but advised.
