Awesome team and 2 Champions at Nationals 2019

NATIONALS 2019

During the first week of the school holidays our team from Northland headed towards Auckland's Trusts Area for this years Nationals. This year was a combined Nationals hosting Mens and Women's Artistic Gymnastics (MAG & WAG) Trampolining, Tumbling, Aerobics and Rhythmic gymnastics.  We had 6 gymnasts who qualified this year which is not an easy achievement up from our 3 gymnasts last year.  Renee Pilon (STEP 6) and Amy Collecutt (STEP 5) competed in WAG and did a great job in a field of 72 of the best gymnasts throughout NZ.  Amy performed her best competition of the year on floor, beam and bars and overcame some difficulties she had been having earlier in the season and was looking great. Renee did a great job all round but with one fall on beam cost her a place in the second day.   Ariah Croasdale joined the team for every training session and was fully ready to step up to compete in her reserve position but this time it was not to be.  Thank you Ariah for being there you were a great support to the girls and we hope that next year you can join us on the competition floor. Not only did Amy and Renee compete in WAG they also joined Ella and Pippa and Julia in tumbling.
Ella, Amy, Renee and Pippa all made the top 8 putting them through to finals and with Pippa and Ella retaining their National Champion title in their age groups and Amy came in 6th and Renee in 8th place.
Well done to everyone we are super proud of you and looking forward to seeing your progress next year.
A huge thank you to Kirsty Howie who was our Northland Team Tumbling Manager who kept us all informed and organised brilliantly and to Annie and Hannah our Northland coaches.
